Whiz Kid is a London-based social media guru, sharing the best and brightest of instagram and helping to level-up your social media game.
GOAL To create a bold, unique brand identity that is flexible to use across social media.
KEY BRAND TRAITS — Fun, bright, bold & 90s!
The brief was to be “hella 90s” (that’s a direct quote from founder Steven), as well as approachable, fun and bright. A completely different vibe to your typical social media based company, and a brand identity which is easy to apply to social media.
↑ The Logo. Steven wanted the logo to better reflect the decade that inspires him daily; the 90's. From popular skate and surf brands to the Fresh Prince, he wanted the logo to encapsulate these influences whilst still staying true to the values of the company. The main logo is custom hand-lettering; the wavy edges to evoke feelings of the California beach/surf culture. The tagline, "get the good stuff out there" emerged organically from the brand questionnaire and discovery phase.
↑ Stickers and Stamps. Multiple stamp and sticker designs serve as the "Whiz Kid Stamps of Approval", each designed to be used to mark Instagram posts about profiles recommended by Whiz Kid as "best in class".
↑ Social Media. The flexibility of the system was important for easy application to social media posts, profile pictures and stories. A coherent, consistent overall look with a bright, eye-catching colour palette. The stamps and stickers allow for quick and easy branding, with each asset interchangeable, and working in many different combinations.
